The Rainham Giants

The Concept was mooted prior to the 2012 Olympics, making use of a brown field site at the London Thames Gateway.

Currently used for landfill, it will be reclaimed as public land to become a wonderful backdrop to a stunning artwork and community resource.

The proposed frieze of giant Olympian chalk-cut figures up to 18 metres tall would mark the boundary to the new Wildspace Conservation Park or ‘Wildespace’, currently being developed for London.

It would also present a dramatic new vista, visible from the Thames, the Queen Elizabeth II bridge, the Kent shore, and flight paths over London.
