BUDDHA
I saw an array of gold Buddha figures in the precincts of the Wat Pho temple in Bangkok, all behind glass in blinding light and part shadow with distorted reflections.
Sometime later, back in England, I made this series of over 70 paintings in a frenzy of inspiration over one summer.
