THE FOOL
Since working with John Matthews on "The Fool's New Journey Tarot", The Fool has just kept on appearing in different disguises: mad, wise, innocent, trickster, holy man and clown.
I was recently introduced to Cecil Collin's "Vision of the Fool" book and his wonderful paintings of the Fool and I was inspired. These 30+ images here came out in a flurry in 2024 on Shikoku island in Japan where we have a home. Nearby in Tokushima, thousands perform the fool's dance at this famous annual festival and sing: "You're a fool whether you dance or not, so you might as well dance!"
So I just kept on drawing. No one asked me to do this but John, inspired, has been writing some foolish text and poetry, so maybe a book of Fools will be forthcoming with a small print run sometime.
